Vitality represents a dynamic state of aliveness, energy, and enthusiasm that goes beyond the mere absence of illness or fatigue. From a positive psychology standpoint, vitality is characterized by physical and mental vigor that allows individuals to approach life with zest and resilience.
At its core, vitality encompasses feeling physically energetic, mentally alert, and emotionally balanced. Vitality is both an outcome of healthy functioning and a resource that enhances our capacity to withstand stress and pursue meaningful goals.

- 150-Minute Weekly Movement Goal from Summer Solstice (June 21) to Fall Equinox (September 21)
- 13-week journey aligned with the astronomical summer
- Track 1,950 total minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity

SOLSTICE TO EQUINOX: 150-MINUTE SUMMER MOVEMENT CHALLENGE
Participate in the “Solstice to Equinox” Summer Movement Challenge from June 21 to September 21, 2025! This 13-week journey aligns with the astronomical summer, starting on the summer solstice and ending on the fall equinox. Current health guidelines recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week – a target that forms the foundation of our challenge.
Why 150 Minutes?
Research shows that getting at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise each week significantly improves overall health, reduces disease risk, and enhances quality of life. This amount of physical activity has been established as the minimum threshold for maintaining good health by major health organizations. While this may sound like a lot, it breaks down to just 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week!
Challenge Structure
- Weekly Target: Achieve at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity each week
- Activity Tracking: Log your minutes using the tracking sheet. The goal is to complete 1,950 minutes by the end of the challenge.
- Milestone Celebrations: Special recognition at 4-week, 8-week, and 13-week marks
- Community Support: Check-in weekly on the Facebook Group with your fellow Trailblazers
- Flexibility: Choose activities you enjoy – walking, jogging, tennis, swimming, cycling, dancing, aerobics, jump roping, and more all count!

- Strength Component: Add muscle-strengthening activities twice weekly
- Outdoor Explorer: Try a new outdoor activity each week (perfect for summer!)
